The Montgomery Free Library at 133 Clinton Street, was founded in 1912 and grown to 15,000 volumes since moving to the Academy Building in 1970.

The Town of Montgomery Food Pantry is a resource for anyone in need to receive food once a month and is available to residents living in the Valley Central School District.
We are a privately run Pantry that has volunteers, staffed by five local churches. We are a privately run Pantry that has volunteers, staffed by four local churches.

The Pantry is mainly funded by private donations and local food drives. The Pantry does receive state funding through grants and are able to purchase food at a lesser cost at the Cornwall Food Bank which is supplied by the Greater Hudson Valley Food Bank in Latham, New York.
Food Pickup Information
Proof of Residency is needed each month upon picking up food, new families to the Pantry must show proof of residency and provide birth certificates for those listed on their form. Any utility bill, tax bill, or insurance bill with the address listed is acceptable for residency. Proof of birth can be driver's license for adults, birth certificates, or Medicaid cards with birth dates listed for children.
How to Donate
Food donations(clothing donations can not be accepted due to lack of space) can be dropped off at the Pantry during operational hours or at the Montgomery Post Office.
If that is not convenient leave a message at the Pantry at 845-457-9673 to set up an appointment.
